About Us
We at St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Gisborne are seeking to live lives centered on Jesus and focused on the Bible.
Our prayer is that through the Gospel's good news of forgiveness and hope, we will be constantly conformed into the character and likeness of the risen Lord Jesus Christ.
We welcome you to come and spend some time getting to know us and, God willing, partnering with us in Christ’s commission of making disciples of all nations.

“And he (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”
Colossians 1:18-20

Who We Are
Purpose – Why we exist
As part of the redeemed people of God, having been brought out of darkness into God’s light through faith in Jesus Christ, we exist to glorify and enjoy God – as Father, Son and Holy Spirit – serving, loving and obeying him, in the light of his revealed Word, the Bible. [Adapted from the PCV Vision Statement].
Mission – What we do
Our mission is to glorify God through reverent worship, Christ-centred teaching,
humble service, proclaiming the truth and love of Jesus Christ, building the future of our church by discipling our congregation and the future of our community by sharing our faith.
Vision – Where we are headed
We will become a prayerful, vibrant church where every generation thrives together, growing in the Reformed faith, welcoming newcomers, passionately caring and discipling one another to glorify God.
Values – How we live out our faith as a church
1 Our message and preaching are founded in the Bible as God’s complete revelation of what He has to say to us and our world.
2. We care for each other, and see every person as precious in the eyes of God.
3. We value the future of our church, embodied in our families, young people and the next generations.
4. Our worship is simple and reverent, upholding tradition, and proclaiming God’s glory.
5. We value proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ to one another and to our community.
